The best anti aging product is not expensive. It is sunscreen.
Ask any skin professional: if they could keep only one product, they would choose sunscreen.
Not a luxury cream. Not a machine. Sunscreen, every single day.
But most people only wear it at the beach. Meanwhile, the sun works on your skin every
day of the year: in the car, on the balcony, even next to a window.
Here is why daily SPF changes everything
The Two Types Of Sun Rays
UVB: the burning ray. Strong in summer. It burns your skin and causes sunburn.
UVA: the aging ray. This is the quiet one. It is there all year, even on cloudy days. It passes through clouds and even through window glass. And it slowly breaks down the collagen that keeps your skin firm.
Easy way to remember: B for Burning, A for Aging.
A sunburn shows the same evening. But UVA damage hides for years, then appears as wrinkles, dark spots and sagging.
What Does SPF Mean?
SPF tells you how well the product protects you from burning.
SPF 30 blocks about 97% of the burning rays. SPF 50 blocks about 98%.
For full protection, look for the words broad spectrum on the bottle. That means it protects against the aging rays too.
The professional standard: broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher, every day.
The Myths, Answered Simply
“It is cloudy today.” Up to 80% of sun rays pass through clouds. Cloudy is not protected.
“I am indoors all day.” UVA passes through windows. If daylight reaches you, so does UVA.
“My skin is dark, I do not burn.” Darker skin burns less, true. But the aging rays still break down collagen and cause dark spots, which is one of the biggest skin concerns in our region. Every skin tone needs SPF.
“My makeup has SPF.” The SPF in makeup is far too little. Think of it as a small bonus, never the real protection.
“Sunscreen blocks vitamin D.” In real life, no. Normal daily exposure and food give you enough. If you are worried, ask your doctor. Do not skip the sunscreen.
How To Use It Right
•Use enough: two finger lengths of product for your face and neck. Most people use half of what they need
•Last step: sunscreen goes on after your moisturizer, every morning
•Reapply: every few hours when you are outside
• Do not forget: ears, neck, chest and the backs of your hands. These areas show age first And at night? Sunscreen is made to stick to your skin. That is exactly why the double cleanse exists: the balm melts it off properly.
